In America in the beginning, the performance arts achievements of the young Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely place her into the prodigy child category. A child of Irish heritage, and surrounded as her by talented parents and family, this came naturally. Maureen made her entrance into this caring haven on August 17, 1920, located in Ranelagh (a suburb of Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita Lea. FitzSimons had a successful contralto. Her father, Charles FitzSimons, managed the business of Dublin and was also the owner of the famous Irish soccer team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen was the third of six FitzSimons children. Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen was a fan of rough and sporting games in her youth and excelled in sports. The passion for sports was matched by an unnatural talent for performing. That was apparent when she won each Feis for drama and theater that Ireland had to provide. In the age of fourteen, she was admitted into the Abbey Theater, where her goal was to study operatic singing as well as classical theater.
